Scope
These rules apply to posts, comments, feedback, attachments, public boards, forms, and other content submitted through an Annot8-hosted public surface. The workspace customer operates its portal and is normally the first-line moderator; Annot8 provides reporting and may intervene to protect people, rights, or the Service.
Content that is not allowed
- Illegal content or content that facilitates crime, fraud, exploitation, or evasion of law
- Threats, harassment, hate, doxxing, stalking, non-consensual intimate content, or encouragement of violence or self-harm
- Child sexual abuse material, grooming, sexualization of children, or content that endangers a child
- Passwords, authentication tokens, payment-card data, government identifiers, private addresses, health records, or other personal data posted without a lawful and necessary reason
- Content that infringes copyright, trademark, confidentiality, privacy, publicity, or other rights
- Malware, phishing, spam, coordinated vote manipulation, impersonation, deceptive links, or automated abuse
- Recordings, screenshots, or audio captured without required authority, notice, or participant consent
- AI-generated content presented deceptively as human-authored where disclosure is required
How moderation works
Moderators consider the content, context, apparent harm, applicable law, these rules, and the rights of affected people. A report may be dismissed, result in a warning or restriction, or cause content to be removed. Emergency or manifestly illegal content may be restricted before a full review. Repeated or severe abuse may lead to portal, workspace, or account suspension.
A moderation decision should identify the outcome and a meaningful reason without exposing unnecessary personal data or confidential security information. Automated signals may prioritize a report, but a person remains responsible for enforcement decisions.
Report and appeal
Use the Report control beside a public post or comment. Explain the specific issue and, where relevant, the law or right involved. The reporter receives a private receipt link that shows the decision. After a decision, the receipt provides one appeal. Appeals should identify a factual or legal error or important missing context.
For an issue that cannot be reported in-product, email legal@annot8.app. Copyright notices should identify the work, the challenged material, contact information, a good-faith statement, and authority to act. Privacy requests are handled under the Privacy Policy.
Workspace responsibilities
Workspace owners must review reports promptly, train moderators, preserve relevant evidence lawfully, give reasons, handle appeals fairly, and escalate imminent harm or legally required notices. They must not use reporting to suppress lawful criticism or discriminate against a person for exercising a right.
Authorities and emergencies
If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. Government and law-enforcement requests must be valid, appropriately scoped, and sent to legal@annot8.app. Annot8 may preserve or disclose information when legally required and will notify affected customers where permitted.
