ANNOT8 VS MARKER.IO
The Marker.io alternative with a free plan
Marker.io is a polished bug-reporting tool, and this page gives it real credit. Annot8 covers the same visual reporting job — then adds the feedback board, live chat, and analytics around it, at per-seat pricing that starts at $0.
CREDIT FIRST
What Marker.io does well
An honest comparison starts with what the other tool is good at. Here's where Marker.io genuinely earns its users.
Deep bug-reporting focus
Screenshot annotation, session replay on higher tiers, and console and network capture — Marker.io has refined this one workflow for years.
A wide tracker wall
Around fifteen project-management integrations, including ClickUp and Azure DevOps, which Annot8 doesn't offer today.
Unlimited reporters
People submitting through the widget are free and unlimited on every Marker.io plan — the right call, and Annot8 makes the same one.
THE DIFFERENCES
Where Annot8 and Marker.io part ways
Where the two tools actually diverge — pricing model, scope, and the things Annot8 doesn't do.
There's no free Marker.io plan
Marker.io starts at $39/month billed annually (Starter, 3 users included) after a 15-day trial. Annot8 has a free-forever plan, and Pro is $10 per seat per month — $8 billed yearly — so a two-person team pays a fraction of the entry price.
External collaborators are paid seats there
Marker.io's reporters are free, but 'Guests' — external people who can view feedback and be assigned issues — are paid users, capped at 10 on Starter. In Annot8, anyone who reviews, comments, or votes never needs a seat or an account.
One surface vs. four
Marker.io is bug reporting. Annot8's same widget also runs a public feedback board with voting and a roadmap, live chat with visitors, and product analytics — surfaces that would otherwise each be another tool and another script tag.
What Annot8 doesn't have
No session replay (recordings in Annot8 are reporter-initiated screen recordings, not always-on replay), no website monitoring, and six issue trackers instead of fifteen. If those are your dealbreakers, Marker.io earns its price.

THE VERDICT
Which one should you pick?
Both answers are legitimate. This is the shortest honest version of when each tool wins.
Pick Annot8 if…
- You want a free plan, or per-seat pricing that starts at $10 instead of a $39/month floor.
- Clients and stakeholders should review and comment without ever becoming a paid seat.
- You'd rather one script tag run feedback, a public board, live chat, and analytics than stitch four tools together.
Stick with Marker.io if…
- You need always-on session replay attached to every report.
- Your tracker is ClickUp, Azure DevOps, or another of the integrations Annot8 doesn't ship.
- You want website uptime monitoring in the same tool.
The cheapest comparison is trying it
One script tag, a free-forever plan, and reviewers who never need an account. If it doesn’t fit, removing it is the same one tag.
